Tips for Spring Skin!
Whilst many of us may have been avoiding alcohol for ‘Dry January’ it's time to concentrate on your skin and ensuring this is not left dry and dehydrated as a result of those winter months. Many of us go through the cold winter months covered from head to toe and it's all too easy to forget about a good skincare routine, however it's important to start now by dusting the dead skin cells away to achieve that glowing spring skin.
Make visiting a beauty salon your New Year's regime. We recommend booking in for a regular facial once a month to achieve that deeper nourishing skin care treatment you cannot achieve at home yourself. You may even feel so relaxed you fall asleep which has great benefits for you skin. Your body boosts blood flow to the skin while you snooze allowing your skin cells to regenerate. resulting in a glowing complexion.
Spring is nearly here and while we all look forward to breezy, sunny days, this also means UV rays are getting stronger. Did you know that many people may be more likely to experience a sunburn in March and April than in the summer months? When the temperatures are cooler in the spring we don't associate it with UV damage however UVA are the damaging rays present all year round that cannot be felt on the skin and these are the rays that damage skin cells causing ageing. Check your moisturiser or foundation contains a UV protection or you can buy a separate UV layer to apply over your moisturiser.
A basic skincare routine is essential to feed our skin with nutrients. A 3-step procedure of cleansing, toning and moisturising to clean, soften and nourish the living skin should be carried out morning and evening. Try adding a little moisturiser to your foundation for additional hydration and to achieve a more natural look for spring.
Avoid spending money on an exfoliating product and use our Earth’s natural resources. Most products contain added chemicals and alcohol to your skin...this having the opposite effect to smoothing, brightening and achieving a radiant complexion, causing dehydration, sensitivity, excess oil production and accentuating the signs of ageing. Exfoliating your skin 2-3 times a week by massaging your product firmly in small circular movements is one of the best ways to give your skin a natural healthy glow. Your new skin cells will regenerate quicker leaving your skin looking younger. Try blending oatmeal, sea salt, ground coffee or ground almonds with olive oil or grapeseed oil, this makes a fantastic exfoliant with added nourishment for dry skin.
Looking after our skin involves both treating it internally and externally. This involves more than just applying a face cream, its what you nourish your body with.
Try a smoothie or a tea!
Kale is an amazing multi-vitamin for the skin, high in vitamins A and C to combat ageing. Don’t like the taste of water? Try cucumber infused helping hydrate and sooth the skin. Pomegranate juice is a super-juice containing over twice as many antioxidants as green tea, a fantastic way of strengthening the skin and fighting against signs of ageing.
Stay bang on trend this season! The skin is all about the dewy, moisture radiant look for 2017. You will see shine on the lips, eyelids and the cheeks.
